September 19 Kaoru's mother passed awayKaoru's mum passed away on 19th at 1:30 pm in Japan time.
Her death attributed to heart failure. According to what Kaoru understood from her brother, she collapsed last week, but she did not have to admit to hospital, but she collapsed again a couple of days ago. This time was not good at all. Her heart was getting weaken rapidly. A doctor put machine to support her heart, but when it came to some stage, a doctor told them that the machine may cause other problems to other organs. So they stopped the machine, then about 10 hours later, she passed away.
Kaoru was notified about her condition 15 hours before she passed away. As we heard that they stopped the machine on the second call, we knew that we won't be able to be there for her last moment.
We did not go to Japan. Kaoru's sister and her brother told her that Kaoru did not have to go back to Japan on the phone. They concerned about her health. They called us to let us know that Kaoru's mother passed away 10 hours after she passed away. It was kind of odd to Kaoru...
Kaoru and her mother had very "special" time in Singapore, so Kaoru has nothing to regret. Her mother enjoyed going to church and reading Bible with Kaoru in Singapore. When Kaoru looked up to the Lord, He gave her amazing feeling of assurance that she is now in Jesus' hand where there is no more war, lost, tears and anger. So we are a kind of happy for her mother and her sister who finally relieved from a burden.
May the Lord comfort rest of famly member's heart and help them as they go through Japanese custom for funeral and so on...

She first came to Canine Adoption and Rescue League about two years ago.

January 02 Christmas in TXWe spent two nights in Fort Worth from 23rd to 25th.
Warmth of Kier family Kaoru had stayed with
20 years ago has not changed at all.
It was raining and cold in Texas, but it was still flat and big.
They showed love of Christ to Kaoru last time and this time.
Kaoru did not understand what they say last time, but this time she did.
We talked a lot as you can imagine.
We both had a great time with them.
Especially Kaoru had a fun with an angel, Ty who was not there 20 years ago.

August 19 Day Trip 2 - Santa BarbaraIt was ideal place to live after retirement.
Not too hot. Not too cold.

After 1 hour of driving from our apartment,
we went up the hill to begin with.
Mission Santa Barbara
First European who came to Santa Barbara was Portuguese.
They first built this in 1786 and it was destroyed in 1812 because of earthquack.
They rebuilt this and now many catholic like to visit.
Stearns Wharf
You can see mountains, harbor and cityscape from this pier.
There were many people who were enjoying fishing.
Coast line Cabrillo Boulevard
Santa Barbara County Courthouse
Hand painted tiles were beautiful.
State Street
This shopping street is long, fashionable and interesting.

We both like this city, but this is just a 'dream' to live in Santa Barbara.
You know why?
Santa Barbara was like Bevarly Hills
and there are many celebrities living even now.
Some of the big houses cost 8 million dollars!
Well, it's free to dream, isn't it?!
Day Trip 1 - Pine MountainJonathan's project seems to end in this December.
There are so many places to see in 3 months!
5th
We went to see mountains near by.
First stop was Ojai.
It was a beautiful town.
We continued driving after lunch in Ojai.
This is the view of MOUNTAINS in California.
Yes, it was dry.
Even river disappeared.
Winding road on the mountain and straight road were
very good for Jonathan to practice driving.
There were only a few farms.
This was the most beautiful view in this trip. Thank God that our car which costed $1000 only lasted on this day.
